About

Author Susan Elizabeth BallI am delighted that you have found my blog and wanted to know more about me.  I am first and foremost a child of God.  I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior as a child and have followed Him ever since. My relationship with God is the foundation of my life.  In this blog, I will share what God is doing in my life and the lessons He is teaching me.  I will also share my passions and interests.

I am blessed with a wonderful family.  I have an awesome husband, Steve.  We met in high school and got married one week after graduating from college.  We will celebrate our 40th anniversary in May. We have three grown sons, two daughter-in-laws, and 8 grandchildren, ranging from 1-year old identical twins to a 10-year old.  Between us we have six brothers and four sisters.  We also have sixteen nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews (more all the time).

My wonderful parents celebrated their 60th anniversary on Christmas Eve 2015.  Six short weeks later, my mother suddenly and unexpectedly departed this Earth.  We were shocked and saddened by her death, yet we rejoice knowing that we will be reunited with her one day in Heaven.  Two years and two weeks later, Dad joined her and we are comforted to know that they are both in Heaven.

I am currently employed as a business consultant. I work with many people who dream of starting their own business, and others who are trying to grow their successful businesses.  Too often, potential business owners are unable to move forward with their business dreams due to poor personal finances.  Many of my personal friends and acquaintances also struggle to manage their personal finances.  One of my passions is helping people to understand Biblical principles of money management, so they can experience less stress and the freedom to fulfill their personal and/or business goals.

I have been counseling friends and church members on budgeting and financial management on a volunteer basis for more than thirty years.  A few years ago, I undertook an in-depth personal Bible study on money, wealth, tithing, offerings, and greed.  I combined my personal knowledge and the Biblical knowledge I gained and wrote a Bible study, Honoring God with Your Money.  This book is now available on Amazon and Barnes and Noble.  It is a great study for personal edification. It is also great for small group Bible studies, couples, and students preparing to leave home for the first time.  I have developed a leader’s guide, which is available free of charge, by emailing me at susan.ball5@aol.com

I am also a writer of Christian fiction.    My first novel, Restorations, was published in 2010.  Reconciliations was published in 2011.   I have been working on the third novel in my Restored Hearts series, to be called Revelations, for quite some time now.  Life, and especially grandchildren, have taken up much of my time and Revelations has been set aside for the time being.  The books are not currently in print, but can be purchased directly from me by contacting me at susan.ball5@aol.com.  I am seeking God’s wisdom to complete the series and re-publish them.

Prior to my current occupation, I taught high school math, founded and operated a church-based preschool, home schooled our sons for eight years, and owned a pizza restaurant.  Outside of work, I have volunteered for the past 40 years as a teacher in our church’s Girls Ministries program.  I am passionately about teaching girls that God has a wonderful plan for their lives and helping them to fulfill God’s plan for their lives.  I am also on the board of my church and serve as the church treasurer.
