The Bible teaches us that we are all sinners in need of salvation. Most people know that even without reading the Bible. You have probably been aware of your shortcomings since you were a very young child. You may admit that you need to be ‘saved,’ yet have no idea how to be saved or what salvation actually means. Or you may believe that if you are basically a good person, God will let you into Heaven when you die.
The Bible teaches us that we cannot be ‘good enough’ to get to Heaven. Even one sin is too many. On our own, we are lost and hopeless. But, we have not been left on our own. God demands that a price be paid for sin, and He knew we could never pay that price. So He sent His son, Jesus, to earth to pay the price for us. Jesus led a sinless life. Yet, He was crucified on a wooden cross. The shedding of His blood paid the price for the sins of each person who has ever lived or who will live.
Salvation is a gift God offers to us. Like any gift, it does not become yours until you accept it. Jesus is offering this gift to you today. Will you accept it?
Accepting the free gift of salvation is as easy as ABC.
A: Admit that you are a sinner. “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23
B: Believe that Jesus paid the price for your sins. “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household’ ” Acts 16:31
C: Confess your sins: ” If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” I John 1:9
If you are ready to accept this free gift that God is offering you, then pray this simple prayer:
Dear Lord,I confess that I am a sinner and need Your forgiveness. I believe Your son Jesus died on the cross to save me from the just punishment of my sins. I ask You to come into my heart and forgive my sins. Thank You for saving me from my sins. Thank You for loving me. From now on, I will live for You. I ask You be the Lord of my life. Please guide me and direct my path that I may walk each and every day with You, Lord.
